Rainy Day Window
Up there she sits and stares again
Not wishing for this rain to end
Where once she walked between the drops
She prays they’ll wash away the thoughts
Of following them home
(chorus)
Rainy day window clears the vision
Rainy day window cleans the pain
Though it looks a little different from the inside
Let it rain; let it rain; let it rain
For years she held away the dreams
Naming them her pointless schemes
Now hear her cursing stars and moon
Rocking lonely in her room
Instead of what was planned
At times she taps upon the glass
The raindrop rhymes as rivulets pass
Then she calls out softly to the cats
Imploring them to come on back
And share the mystery
