What’s So Good About Buena?
I’ve rambled round this great big land
And I’ve stayed in many a town
But I’m digging eastern Washington
Got me thinking about settling down
Right down the road from Yakima
Near Zilla and Sunnyside
Maybe raise a crop
Of hay and hops
In Buena I’ll reside
What’s so good about Buena?
Why don’t you stop on by and see?
You can’t call Buena no one horse town
Cause they’re half the citizenry
There was lots of room for First Street
It’s just Second wouldn’t fit
Buena’s good and small
So come on y’all
Pull up a spot and sit
A spell and watch the tumbleweed
A’tumbling in the breeze
I hope you brung your own shade along
You won’t find that many trees
‘Cept some old cottonwoods and willows
Along the arroyo
Still, Buena’s got a lot
Even if it’s not
Near big as Teapot Dome
No, and it’s not so grand as Grandview
Nor as gold as Goldendale
And it may not be no Prosser
But it’s still good, what the Hell?
You can’t catch a first run movie
But the stars shine every night
You’ll want to stay and play
No matter what they say
Good old Buena’s quite a sight
